This map earns the GMD Seal of Approval!

Pretty damn neat. When these first came out there was the "Bidmix Rotation" which was the missions and bugport16 in a row. For one full day. Hell. I hated the maps for awhile after that, but after not playing them for a week, they are quite a bit of fun.

There are some forcefield doors designed to cut off superquick rushes, but with my bad computer, I didn't even realize they existed until I looked at the maps in singleplayer. Also, it's nice that you really don't have to worry about your base considering there are gassers/webs that will kill the spiders/humans without them ever getting near.

The first map, Purge is just a race to get to the other teams upper floor room and wait for the door to open so a 3+ frag class can push a button to gas the other team. The other team has 1 minute to override it and finish the other team. If the humans win Purge, the game proceeds to the Gas mission. The humans must get an engineer into the aliens base and push 4 buttons. If the Aliens win Purge, we're on to Pod. The aliens need to get a a 3+ frag class to turn on pod power, and get a live breeder in to launch it. After Pod or Gas, without dependency on the winner, we proceed to the final mission, Rescue. At 11 minutes, the escape ship doors open and the humans and spiders must fight to be alone in the ship. At 14, the doors close. If there are humans and spiders, they must fight it out to decide the winner. At 15 minutes, port 42 explodes and the race left on the pod wins the missions. If at 20 minutes, there are still Humans AND spiders, the game ends as a tie. Check Bidmix's website (up at the top) for the full info that you need to play.

All in all, the BPMs are pretty neat. Of course, if they get overplayed then you're in for some "fun".

Textures
Cube Cube Cube

Comment: Some new textures. Nice moving textures that explain the rules. No real big mistakes.

Layout
Cube Cube Cube

Comment: Kind of confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's simple. Also, the bottom floor is sort of useless. It is rarely used and is generally nullified with a few turrets or spikers.

Creativity
Cube Cube Cube Cube

Comment: They are all mission based! The first mission maps! They have all the swankiest features like breeder/engineer only buttons. Plus, the campaign, while slightly short, isn't completely linear.

Overall
Cube Cube Cube

Comment: Pretty good maps, but can be messed up early in the game if either spiders or humans gain the top bridge too early. Nice that all the maps are variations, so no learning 4 new maps.
